Throughout my Fall 2024 semester, I had the pleasure of working at Starcycle as a Design Intern. Starcycle is a startup that helps businesses navigate the wind-up process, guiding founders through the complexities of shutting down and handling most of the heavy lifting.

Over the course of the internship, I collaborated with cross-functional teams on projects that directly support their mission of aiding business founders. Although I worked on a variety of designs, the problem we were addressing remained the same:

Founders need user-friendly services that streamline complex business processes because these challenges can be overwhelming, and with the right support, they can navigate them with clarity and confidence.

The first project I worked on involved designing the UX/UI for the onboarding process for prospective clients, which we called the founder intake form. To effectively support founders in winding up their businesses, Starcycle requires them to answer a series of questions that help us tailor our assistance to their specific needs.

TurboTax transforms the dreaded and mundane task of filing taxes into a more approachable and even enjoyable experience—similar to the challenge founders face when starting the dissolution process for their businesses. I drew inspiration from TurboTax's ability to simplify complex processes, aligning with Starcycle's goal of making business dissolution more straightforward and manageable.
